Hello readers. It’s with a hint of sadness that I need to say I’m going to pause blogging until further notice. I’m so happy and grateful that you’ve followed my blog thus far , but it’s become unmanageable simply because of bad programming, malware, viruses, bogus companies, and I also feel it’s come to a natural conclusion.

I do have a static page for business purposes which you can find here :

If I take up blogging again in the future I’ll let you know. Any updates will be posted there

Thank you so much!

Hello readers. It’s 1st October 2020 and as promised here is my blog post for the month. I apologise that I could not post in September . I had to log off, dispose of my tech, do a tech detox, and start fresh. I have been busy with my art practice in the meanwhile.

Firstly I constructed an item of street art which was great fun to create. It approaches notions of what objects mean to us, what their nature if it is utilitarian for example, and implied meanings such as branding. Many deny the art object whilst employing it to mean things beyond it’s intended use. I took that further to counter certain behaviours in society. The art object doesn’t fail.

This item was padlocked in a public space before I brought it home. The artefact can not fail. All manner of ill behaviour can be portrayed in art and it simply doesn’t go beyond the item itself. The opposite is also true. Art is static . It simply goes no further than the audience.

Propaganda doesn’t work that way. #Propaganda is a lie and the perpetrators are responsible as they act out the lie in the real world as though it’s true. Put a lie into a painting and it will simply be a lie. If an individual commits to the lie it is propaganda and a criminal offence that they are committing beyond any art medium. Everybody can do something about a lie. If an artefact’s construction is criminal by nature then the art object doesn’t hurt anybody, it’s completely static, and the perpetrators will pay the price.

If for example certain types of artefacts and their producers are continually selected then you have bias which is a propaganda technique. You make up your own minds , change them, and hold a thought like normal people. It’s alarming when the fog clears so to speak. The exhibition ‘Weapons Of Mass Communication’ held at the Military Museum in London which I attended as a fashion and textiles student in 2007 was a superb experience for me personally and I think there is a book available if that’s your sort of thing.

I also performed street theatre roughly a month ago now. I didn’t record the performance but it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and honestly I could cry just thinking about it.

It was a drawn out process that I had to perform spontaneously where I simply performed the act of physically defending yourself as a solo performer. I had props but no weapons, and demonstrated my ability to injure another person to the point of destruction whilst being someone who practices non violence. I did so infront of everyone watching with little more than a hand painted sign that said ‘theatre.’

The point is that perpetrators don’t take self defense seriously and they think they’re the biggest shark in the blue sea, and if they’re not they can get their mates. Individuals can defend themselves to the most violent potential imaginable against many offenders but don’t try that theory out. You’re already playing a losing game.

Moving Swiftly On…

A new series for your viewing pleasure.

As I sit here preparing for a night in with a lovely drink and not much else to do for the weekend I realise I’m feeling really wonderful. I’m typing this post to be scheduled for 1st August 2020 and everything feels rather sweet. I’ve two new works available as Stand Yur Ground Neutralize Nepotism Today! and You’re Strong Be Warned which I finished in July 2020.

It’s da club where you cut your teeth.

I create two new works each month and these have developed on from previous projects. My art practice works this way. I create at least two new finished works is the result of this method. As I have to create two works and not one new work I engage with my processes and techniques differently. If I were to create just one work then I might dither, fuss about, get distracted etc. and so because I have to create two works together I gain a difference level of momentum which generates better foundations for the works that follow the month after. As well as this aspect to my routine art practice I develop long term projects. It feels fantastic after all the trouble shooting I’ve had to do to get into the routine of creating finished works that I can ground the rest of what I’m doing on.

Then after months of gorgeous sunny weather, a true emblem of the winter months, a rainbow formed outside my window. God they’re stunning. They’re so vibrant and they illuminate in a way that I can barely understand. It’s like they’re radiating coloured energy. They look powerful to me. Whilst the #Coronabolona pandemic was droning on I actually did a little bit of personal investigation for the sake of my art practice. I’ve been fascinated with rainbows for years as you can see here in an older Album. It was great I simply looked at how rainbows seemed to be forming from my understanding compared with what I know in a scientific sense and these were the results.

Rainbows experiments in 2020.

Of course I’m also fascinated with nature and so organic materials like flowers for example are a study focus. Flowers display colours and are perceived differently by different animals which is because of the way light behaves. I often study inorganic materials as well which have formed naturally on earth. I took a quick stroll through the park on the way home and manged to snap these today.

These are er… Flowers of the flora variety!

Finally if you have time I would love it if you could have a look at my #lifestyleblog which is called The Labour Is The Maker and let me know what you think. Its title is based on a poem I wrote in February 2019 just before I moved home. I write the blog on a personal basis because I’ve received so much help from the work of others in managing my life in both its ups and downs. I found that information for free and I wanted to do the same for others but I simply wasn’t in a position to do so. That’s how I am by nature. I’m really quite annoying with the advantage point tit bits for getting on in life. Maybe it’s my background.
